A historic marker was placed near the river where two men in southern Mississippi said they were abducted by extraterrestrials in 1973.
The media reports that the city of Pascagoula dedicated the score Saturday at Lighthouse Park.
Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker said they were on the banks of the Pascagoula River when what appeared to be extraterrestrial took them aboard a UFO, examined them for about 30 minutes and then returned them to Earth.
Both reported the event to the sheriff’s department and registered at a hospital after it happened on October 11, 1973. The story is known throughout the world.
Parker published a book about the experience in 2018. Hickson died in 2011. Both said that many people doubted their story. Some witnesses have come forward to corroborate some details.
The truth is still unknown and only time will tell if extraterrestrials exist or not.
