Russian officials expressed concern about the flight of the B-52H Stratofortress aircraft of the United States Air Force in the Black Sea region.
According to several Russian media, on October 19, an American B-52 bomber flies near Crimea, illegally occupied.
The Crimea Realities publication reported Monday that the bombers simulated an attack and conducted a mock attack on military targets in the Crimea annex.
From the beginning, the Kremlin has already declared that the redeployment of B-52 strategic bombers from the United States to Europe creates tensions.
“It goes without saying that such actions by the United States do not at all strengthen the security and stability climate in a region adjacent to Russia,” presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media. “On the contrary, this generates more tensions.”
On October 22, the United States Air Force confirmed that its B-52 bomber conducted a training flight in the Black Sea region.
“The B-52H Stratofortress aircraft of the United States Air Force from the 2nd Bombing Wing of the Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Which operates from the RAF of Fairford, United Kingdom, recently returned from a flight of long duration in the Black Sea region, focused on integration and interoperability training with European allies and partners,” says the Air Force message.
