Emmanuel Macron, president of France, announced the creation of a space command within the French Air Force, which should eventually be established as the Air Force and Space.
Prior to the celebration of Bastille Day, on July 14, the president delivered a speech that reaffirms the desire to see more European cooperation in the sector and thus improve the country’s defense capabilities.

“The new doctrine of the military space, which was proposed to me by the minister and which I approved, will guarantee our defense in space,” Macron reported in the offices of the Ministry of Armed Forces.
Last year, the French president pointed out the need for a strategy for space defense, and with this, to reinforce the knowledge that there is about space, to better protect its satellites, among other benefits.
France maintains a military spending plan for 2019-2025, in which it allocates 3.6 billion euros (4 billion dollars) allocated to the defense of space; This includes the renovation of observation satellites, the launch of three CERES monitoring satellites and the modernization of a GRAVES radar surveillance system .
This attraction to participate actively in the development of this industry by the European nation, is in line with the projects and interests of countries such as the United States, China and Russia.
