Russian airline AZUR air announces the transfer from January 1, 2019, of all flights from Moscow and St Petersburg to the Dominican Republic, from Punta Cana to La Romana Airport.
“The length of the airport runway is 2,950 meters, width – 45 meters, the airport is approved for servicing Boeing 767-300 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft performing these flights. Already in 2018, some flights were operated to La Romana airport. During maintenance flights from St Petersburg last year, the airport confirmed the high quality of service for wide-body aircraft of the airline, passengers, cargo and baggage”, says the official statement of AZUR air.
Changing the airport of arrival will bring additional comfort to airline passengers. La Romana Airport was opened at the end of 2000 and has a more modern infrastructure than Punta Cana Airport. In addition, due to a less busy airport, the time required for pre-flight procedures and baggage claim will be reduced.
