Air Force Helicopter Crashes by Flock of Birds in Peru

This Thursday, November 14 at 12:05 p.m., a MI-8 helicopter of the Peruvian Air Force (FAP) suffered an accident due to the presence of a flock of small birds.

The incident happened when the helicopter was landing on the runway of the El Valor airfield, in the El Milagro district, Utcubamba province, in the Amazon.

The FAP reported that good pilot management prevented human losses, injuries and damage to private property.

Despite this, the helicopter presented material damage to the front nose landing gear and is in the custody of the institution’s personnel.

Their representatives informed that they ordered the activation of the Accident Investigation Board to know the circumstances in which it occurred.
