Adidas Embarks on a New Adventure in Outer Space

Adidas, in outer space. The German sports fashion company will send its shoes outside the Earth’s atmosphere in an agreement with the International Space Station, National Laboratory of the United States.

The company thus collaborates with the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space to evaluate the performance of its shoes in the extreme conditions of space.

The company aims to increase the efficiency and comfort of its shoe models and gather information to create new products and improve existing ones.

The shoes will travel to space for the first time next year and will be evaluated by space station astronauts.

In this line, NASA sent Adidas soccer balls into space earlier this year to better understand how displacement works outside the Earth’s atmosphere.

“By controlling certain variables we can perform experiments and collect data that could not be obtained on Earth,” explains Christine Kretz, head of collaborations at the International Space Station, National Laboratory of the United States.
