Trump continues to defend the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani by the United States. The US president has said that “due to this son of a bitch, large percentages of people do not have legs or arms.”
The tycoon has expressed himself in these terms during a meeting of the Republican Party in Milwaukee, in the state of Wisconsin.
This same week he also said that Soleimani “should have been killed 20 years ago” because it was an “imminent” threat against the security of US troops and citizens in the region.
Washington has attributed to Soleimani the intellectual authorship of the murder of hundreds of US soldiers deployed in Iraq.
It is not the first time that Trump has referred to Soleimani in the least pleasant terms in the last few hours.
The president of the United States defended the “coherence” of the attack, because, he said, the Iranian general was “the world’s number one terrorist according to all sources.”
“A bad person. He has killed many Americans. He has killed a lot of people,” Trump insisted during an act with the press in the White House.
The United States used an MQ-9 Reaper drone to launch the missiles that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.
This is the same unmanned aircraft model that the Spanish Air Force has just received and is expected to be operational this spring.
The prestigious Iranian general Soleimani had just arrived by plane at Baghdad International Airport after midnight on Thursday.
He and his team of collaborators were picked up by two off-road vehicles at the foot of the track.
None of its occupants was aware that they were being flown by at least one drone of the United States military air force.
Before leaving the airport, the MQ-9 ‘Reaper’ (‘Reaper’) fired several AGM-114 ‘Hellfire’ (‘Hellfire’) air-to-ground missiles against the convoy.
The vehicles flew through the air and all its occupants, nine in total, died. Soleimani, responsible for the strategy of attacks against the United States in the Middle East, was recognized by a large ring with a garnet gemstone that was always worn by the Iranian general.
The attack, which represents an unprecedented milestone in the tense relationship between the United States and Iran and could degenerate into a serious war escalation, has revealed the technical capabilities of the Pentagon to hit any target anywhere in the world thanks to its drone technology.
A technology that Spain already has since the beginning of last December.
