The United States Coast Guard rescued the passengers from the plane, but one died on the way to the hospital.
One person died and two others were injured during a plane crash on Sunday off the coast of Louisiana, according to the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).
According to authorities, the search began when a company offering fishing trips reported that it had lost contact with one of its seaplanes.
The coastguards flew by helicopter to the last location where the plane had been detected in the radar, in the Chandeleur Strait, and there they found the remains of the plane.
