Dubai International Airport has become the world’s busiest airport in terms of international passenger traffic – for the fifth time in a row. the operator reported that last year Dubai International Airport served 89.1 million passengers, which is 1% more than in 2017.
The airport received 7.4 million passengers per month, while in July and August this figure exceeded 8 million. The total number of flights decreased by 0.3% to 408,200, and the average number of travelers on each flight increased by 1.3% to 226.
The most popular routes were connecting Dubai with India (serving 12.28 million people), Saudi Arabia (6.4 million people) and the UK (6.2 million people). Passenger traffic on Russian routes increased by 14.5% to 1.5 million people.
